Mrs. Lo Presti’s first graders enjoy playing partner games to practice adding and subtracting.

Early Release Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - Pick Ups start at 12:50 pm

Mathematicians in Miss Goldberg's second grade class are practicing two digit subtraction with regrouping. They are using multiple strategies such as drawing pictures and using manipulatives to show their thinking!

In Mrs. Hagstrom's first grade class students are reading and learning about animals. Students are applying what they learned by writing their very own non fiction books about animals. They love sharing their writing with each other!

Students in the resource room are learning different strategies to solve math problems.

Connecticut State Department of Education recognized educators from across the state last night at the Teacher of the Year Ceremony held at the Bushnell Theater. REMINDER

In Mrs. Lloyd's first grade class we shared our informational writing and gave positive feedback! We worked hard over the last few weeks to write each page of our story, revise them, publish them, and now we got to share them! The students worked really hard and enjoyed getting to share their hard work and hear feedback from their peers.

REMINDER: Tomorrow is our Storybook Character Day Parade at Kelly Lane. Families are welcome to attend! Parents can line up, outside, along the edge of the front sidewalk behind the cones.
AM Preschool, Kindergarten, and First Grades' Character Parade is at 9:30 am.
PM Preschool and Second Grades' Character Parade is at 1:45 pm.

Mike Dunn embodies Granby Memorial High School. There’s no better way to end National Principals Month than by celebrating this passionate, caring, and dedicated leader.

In keeping with our National Principals Month recognition, we feel so fortunate to have Mrs. Tanis leading GMMS.

A huge National Principals Month shout out to Ms. Greer for her incredible dedication and leadership. Her commitment to both students and staff truly makes a difference in our community. Thank you for all you do, Ms. Greer!

At Kelly Lane, one of our favorite ways to teach social-emotional skills is the Zones of Regulation (first introduced by Leah Kuypers, an OT and autism resource specialist). We learn to categorize our feelings and energy levels (and those of the people around us) into four different colored “zones”. This, in turn, helps us understand better what kinds of things we need when our “zone” doesn’t match the situation, or when we’re upset.

October is National Principals Month, a great time to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our principals. They play a crucial role in shaping school culture, supporting teachers, and ensuring that students thrive.
Let’s take a moment to thank them for their commitment and celebrate the difference they make every day! Beginning with Mrs. Bava!

What a blast this weekend at the Granby Town Trunk or Treat! There was a lot of candy and some creative costumes. It’s always great to see the community come together for some spooky (but family-friendly) fun.

Kindergarten and first grade students love learning through math games!

In OT we love to use squigz. Students can work on increasing hand strength by pulling the squigz off of the table. To promote crossing the body’s midline, students can reach across their body and pull the squigz off of the table with their opposite hand. We love getting creative with squigz too!
