Mrs. Pelletier's first grade class celebrated World Read Aloud Day 2025 with a live author meetup and read aloud. We met author David Shannon, who read us his book, No, David! Then, we learned how to draw David with his “naughty eyebrow” and ear with no holes (he doesn’t listen well). It was fun to connect with 50,000 other classes from across the world!

The kindergarten students in Mrs. Spellman-Cloutier class used their character puppets to retell the story of The Gingerbread Man. They had to change their voices for all of the characters...especially the SLY fox. They did a great job!

In art class students learned how to draw the pigeon after reading the book "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!" Then, they brainstormed silly ways that the pigeon could travel to school and created illustrations of their ideas. Ben decided that the pigeon would like to drive the Pigeon Express Train!

Did you receive a holiday card from Granby Public Schools this year? There were so many amazing submissions that I couldn't pick just one! Thank you to all of the artists that entered their design for consideration and congratulation to Isabella Hurczyn (gr. 11) and Avery Burgess (gr. 2) for being selected this year. Happy New Year!

It was a fun day at Kelly Lane as we welcomed for the first time, the Chamber Singers from GMHS, to our Holiday Sing-a-Long! Staff and students enjoyed hearing their beautiful voices sing and I think they were impressed by the voices of Kelly Lane. Thank you to Mrs. Shilansky for sharing your students with us and as always thank you Mrs. Lucas for another awesome and well love tradition at Kelly Lane!

Tomorrow we will be celebrating CCMC PJ Day by wearing our favorite pajamas to show support for children who have to wear theirs for extended periods during hospital stays.
We will also be collecting donations to contribute to this meaningful cause, though participation in donations is completely optional—students are welcome to wear their PJs whether or not they choose to donate.
There are three ways to donate this year:
Cash Donations: Students can bring cash in a clearly marked envelope labeled "PJ Day" on Friday, December 13. Please note that checks are not accepted.
Online Donations: Families can donate online at www.pjdayforthekids.org. Donations can be credited to any of our Granby schools or, if families have children in multiple schools, to Granby Public Schools as a whole.
QR Code: Donations can also be made by scanning the QR code on the flyer.
Let’s make this year’s PJ Day special as we come together to support an amazing cause!

In Mrs. Michalski's Second Grade Class, students participate in Morning Meeting each day. We have special helpers who read a message and discuss important activities we will be participating in throughout the day. We also greet each other and share important news from our lives. Here, we are responding to a fun holiday themed dice prompt where we get to share our favorite holiday book, movie, food, or activity to do over winter break. We so enjoy this part of our school day!
